We’ve got some breaking news for you right here, and it looks a lot like all of the stops are being pulled out for this one. JK58 X Club Kyo KL are joining forces to present something very special to Malaysia’s underground music lovers. The names on show need little, if any, introduction, but we will summarise for you just in case.

Circoloco have carved out a deserved reputation over the last 20 years as being something of a pinnacle event for underground house lovers. Usually based in one of the most renowned clubs for discerning party people, DC10 Ibiza, this is their second foray into the South East Asian scene following their hugely successful event at Baba Beach Club in Phuket last year.

Once again they’re coming complete with a marquee lineup. It’s no exaggeration to say South Korea’s Peggy Gou has exploded onto - and then out of - the underground dance scene in recent years. She started turning heads thanks to her slick productions and dynamic DJ sets, and since then her extremely palatable image, style and persona have sky-rocketed her into the stratosphere, leading to endorsements from brands including Louie Vuitton M.H, NIKE, Porsche and more. Predictably, though, what we personally love most about her is her music. We decided to play you our favourite from her back-catalogue, ‘Gou Talk’. Deep, chuggy house with hypnotic bass and a fantastically freaky top-line, this still gets plenty of plays on the Cosmic Tiger system.

Next up we have the hugely talented German artist, Dixon. Not only has he won Resident Advisor’s top-1000 DJ poll for 4 years in a row, but he also co-founded (with Âme’s Frank Wiedemann & Kristian Beyer) the hugely influential Innervisions label, which was pretty much responsible for launching a whole new sub-genre of deep, musical, and immaculately produced house music. He’s collaborated with and remixed the very best in the business, and his sound is always worth checking.

Completing the international billing, we have waFF. The UK based DJ/ producer’s style knows few boundaries. He’s released on benchmark labels Cocoon, Drumcode, and Desolat, and his relentless touring schedule has helped him form a formidable international pedigree. He also deserves a nod for his remarkable stamina, we might add, holding as he does a record of playing a 50 hour DJ set once at Partai Festival in Venezuela. One can only assume he was allowed to eat meals behind the turntables.

Also gracing the decks will be the finest locally based DJs JonnyVicious, Alam, and Biscuit. Bringing their far-reaching sounds, from disco, to deep house and beyond, these three are sure to set the tone perfectly while representing KL in style.

The event takes place at REXKL, a jaw-dropping venue that has survived fires and undergone multiple transformations since it was first built in 1947, and now serves as a newly re-generated creative space and arts hub.

If you’re in the region late November and you like to party, it’s simply a must and is sure to be a road block. Full event info can be found by clicking the flyer below.
